Who Owns the Taj Mahal and Red Fort: Red Fort in Delhi and Taj Mahal in Agra are two great heritages of India. To see them, thousands and lakhs of people from different countries and different states come every year. But do you know who has the ownership rights of these two monuments?
If not then let us know..
Actually, if we talk about Taj Mahal before you, then Shahjahan started the construction work of this beautiful palace in 1638 and completed it on 12 May 1639. After construction, Shahjahan handed over this beautiful fort to his son Darashikoh. Taj Mahal was also built by Shahjahan in 1632 in the memory of his wife Mumtaz, which is famous all over the world today. Taj Mahal is so beautiful and amazing that it has been included in the seven wonders of this country.
Who is their owner now?
If we now talk about their ownership rights, then as long as India was ruled by the Mughal rulers, their descendants used to claim their rights over these two heritages. But after this, when the British rule came in the country, they started ruling it.
But as soon as the country became independent, the Government of India started operating 2826 such big name-conscious places, which also includes the Taj Mahal of Agra and the Red Fort of Delhi. Nowadays, the care of these historical heritage is in the hands of Archaeological Survey Department i.e. ASI.
