The 140th birth anniversary of Satguru Maharshi Mehi Paramahansa Ji Maharaj was celebrated with great joy


Teghra, Ashok Kumar Thakur: The 140th birth anniversary of Satguru Maharshi Mehi Paramahans ji Maharaj was celebrated with great joy at Shri Sant Mat Satsang Mandir Phulwadia on Wednesday within the block area. Crowds of devotees began gathering in the Satsang Mandir premises from Wednesday morning amidst drizzle. On the occasion, a picture of Guru Maharaj was put on a grand chariot and a procession was taken out with music and dance on various routes of the area. A large number of women, men and children participated in it. During this, the devotees spread the immortal message of Santmat to every home in the country and abroad, Kabir, Nanak, Buddha are dear – all are saints.

The revered ones were raising slogans like ours. Everyone had a flag and a placard with different slogans written on it. After the Prabhatpheri, Stuti Paath and Aarti were organised at the Satsang Mandir. Flowers were offered to the picture of Maharshi Mehi Ji. Thereafter a community feast was organised, in which a large number of people took the Prasad. In the afternoon, Bhajans, Kirtans, Stuti and Sadgranth Paath were performed. In which Swami Guru Prasad Baba, while throwing light on the biography of Maharshi Mehi Paramhans Ji, told that Maharshi Mehi was born on 18 April 1885 AD, on Vaishakh Shukla Chaturdashi, at his maternal grandfather's house. His mother's name was Janakwati Devi and father's name was Bahujan Babu.

He told that Guru Maharaj had seven dreadlocks on his forehead since birth. After combing them with a comb, they used to come back to their original shape. When he was giving the English exam in matriculation, he was asked to write the explanation of a poem. He wrote only two lines in Hindi- Deh Dhare Ka Phal Yahi Bhai Bhajiye Ram Sab Kaam Bihai. That is, nothing is better than devotion to God. He gained knowledge by practicing meditation and Sadhna for many months at Kuppaghat in Bhagalpur and gave the message to the people that God is one and the way to reach him is also one. District Minister Gajendra Prasad Poddar, Ramnandan Singh, Sanjeev Gupta, Vibhuti Singh, Markande Das, Sonu Pandit and other members had full cooperation in organizing the program successfully.
