Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge Rumored to Get Major Battery and Camera Upgrades

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge may feature a significantly larger battery and a slimmer design, thanks to new battery technology, according to recent leaks. The device is also expected to receive a major camera sensor upgrade.

According to reports, Samsung is planning to increase the battery capacity of the S26 Edge while reducing its thickness from the 5.8mm profile of the current Galaxy S25 Edge. This is rumored to be possible through the use of a new silicon-carbon battery, an advancement over the lithium-ion cells in current models.

However, there are conflicting reports regarding the exact battery size. An initial leak suggested a 4,200mAh battery, but a more recent claim from tipster @UniverseIce on X points to a larger 4,400mAh cell. For comparison, the current Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with a 3,900mAh battery. As the information is not yet confirmed, it should be viewed with caution.

Beyond the battery, the Galaxy S26 Edge is also rumored to feature a substantial camera improvement, with the ultra-wide lens being upgraded from a 12-megapixel sensor to a 50-megapixel one.

Under the hood, the European variants of the Galaxy S26 series are expected to be powered by Samsung’s next-generation Exynos 2600 chipset. The company has confirmed this will be its first processor built on the advanced 2nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) manufacturing process.
