Rajasthan police came to know about Bihar police's social media center


Under citizen-centric policing, Bihar Police Social Media Center is taking prompt action on complaints and suggestions received from citizens on various social media sites. Complaints received through Comments/Mentions/Direct messages (DM) are being resolved by giving appropriate replies in less than 2 hours. The Bihar Police social media team is instantly refuting false propaganda/misleading news and sharing the official version related to the incident at a rapid pace.

Today on 08.07.2024, Rajasthan Police visited the Social Media Center located at Bihar Police Headquarters. Many important information related to the latest software and social media management being used by Bihar Police was shared.

Bihar Police is ranked third on Facebook, seventh on Twitter (X) and Instagram

The number of followers of Bihar Police on social media is continuously increasing.

•⁠ ⁠Compared to other states across the country, Bihar Police is in third place with 6 lakh 65 thousand followers on Facebook. In this ranking, Kerala Police is in first place and Karnataka Police is in second place.

•⁠ ⁠Bihar Police is at seventh place in the ranking of X and Instagram with 4 lakh 63 thousand and 1 lakh 30 thousand followers respectively. Uttar Pradesh Police and Kerala Police are at first place in the ranking of X and Instagram respectively.

•⁠ ⁠The total number of followers of Bihar Police on all social media platforms (Facebook + X + Instagram + Youtube) is 12 lakh 70 thousand and thus Bihar Police is included in the top-5 states in the number of total followers.

•⁠ ⁠In the last two months, about 1 lakh 80 thousand new followers have joined the various social media platforms of Bihar Police. During this period, the reach on Facebook was 19 lakh 40 thousand and the impression on X was 50 lakh 58 thousand. Which shows the popularity of the social media platforms of Bihar Police.

People are being made aware through public friendly posts

•⁠ ⁠The Social Media Center of Bihar Police is continuously working towards making people aware.

•⁠ ⁠In this context, special emphasis is being laid on increasing public awareness by preparing new criminal law, traffic, cyber, women and other awareness related campaigns and promoting them through social media.

•Awareness messages are being given to people through various mediums like memes/infographics/graphics/videos/motiongraphics/cartoons.

Continuous monitoring of suspicious accounts

•⁠ ⁠Further legal action is being ensured by Bihar Police Social Media Center by identifying suspicious social media accounts.

•⁠ ⁠To conduct peaceful elections in Bihar during the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Social Media Center of Bihar Police identified suspicious election related posts / events / posts related to misinformation / fake news and took appropriate action against those doing so. Similarly, during festivals, Bihar Police Social Media Center identified the person / post hurting religious sentiments and spoiling social harmony and took legal action against him.
