Buying and Selling of SIM Cards: Till a few years ago people used to buy SIM cards according to themselves and shopkeepers used to sell them. But recently the rules have been changed.
Which will be implemented in India on December 1 now it will be mandatory to verify the dealers from selling the SIM. Apart from this it will be mandatory for people selling SIMs to register to sell SIMs.
In fact the government has taken this particular decision in the case of fraud calls and spam that has been happening for the last few years. In such a situation the Department of Telecommunications has made a new rule for the sale and purchase of SIM cards.
What the new rule?
After the new rule all telecom companies will now have to take the KYC update of the shopkeepers selling SIM cards if the companies do not take KYC then they can also have to pay a fine of Rs 10 lakh.
Apart from this under the new rule people selling bulk SIM cards will also be charged with copying.
Now people will not be able to buy SIM cards in the book at the same time bulk SIM cards will be given only on business connections.
If a person wants to close his number then his number will be transferred to another person after 90 days.
