Begusarai A case has come to light of a person selling the public land of Ram Janaki Thakurwadi located in Bhuthari village of Govindpur 3 Panchayat of Bachhwara police station area of the district. Local villagers are angry due to the sale of Thakurwadi land. Dozens of people of Bhuthari village have complained to the Anchal Adhikari by submitting a joint signed application regarding the matter. Local villagers say that Bhuthari Thakurwadi was established three hundred years ago under the leadership of Baudh Baba Das Ji Maharaj with the help of local villagers. In the initial period, Mahant Baudh Das started by installing an idol in a small room. At the time of construction of Thakurwadi, local people donated their land in the name of Ram Janaki Thakurwadi.

After Mahant Baudh Baba Das Ji Maharaj of Bhuthari Thakurwadi, Ram Das Ji Maharaj was made Mahant and after that Ram Pratap Das Ji Maharaj was appointed Mahant by the villagers. Everything was going well after he became Mahant. But anti-social elements murdered him seven decades ago. After which Siya Ram Das Ji was made Mahant and the responsibility of Thakurwadi was handed over. After his death, Ram Sharan Das Ji Maharaj was made Mahant. But the influential people of the surrounding area started occupying the land of Ram Janaki Thakurwadi. In a few days, the situation became such that from seven hundred bighas, it came down to fifty bighas.

But he died during that time. After which Satyanarayan Das Ji Maharaj was made Mahant. But he died within a few days. After the death of Mahant, Shraddha Karma was performed by the local people. After the death of Mahant, no Mahant has been appointed in Ram Janaki Thakurwadi Bhuthri till date. Due to lack of maintenance of Thakurwadi, the condition of Thakurwadi became pathetic.

Day by day the temple built for Thakurji in Thakurwadi started falling down. Today the situation is that Bhuthri Ram Janaki Thakurwadi is on the verge of losing its existence. No one is coming forward to do puja in Thakurwadi, nor is anyone ready to take care of it. But everyone has a keen eye on the land that is in the name of Ram Janaki, to see how they can collect money by selling the land illegally. The process of illegal sale and encroachment of land is not stopping. Recently, Ranjit Mahato, son of local villager late Kailu Mahato, has sold about ten kattha land owned by Thakurwadi illegally and got it encroached by the buyer. And illegal money of lakhs of rupees has also been earned.

When the villagers got wind of the matter, they united at the village level and started a front against illegal buying and selling. A complaint has been lodged with the Circle Officer Bachhwara and the ex-officio president of Thakurwadi, Teghra Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Hundreds of people including villagers Rahul Mahato, Bhikhari Mahato, Bodhan Yadav, Vijay Kumar Mahato, Suresh Mahato, Praveen Mahato, Ram Bahadur Yadav, Ram Ishwar Rai, Gautam Kumar, Amresh Kumar, Srinivas Yadav, Vijay Yadav, Ram Kishun Yadav, Chhotelal Mahato, Ram Chandra Mahato, Karilal Mahato, Kari Yadav, Ram Karan Mahato, Naresh Mahato, Dinesh Mahato, in their joint signed application said that if the administrative land of Thakurwadi is not freed from illegal occupation and illegal buying and selling is not curbed in time, then we will start preparing for a fierce agitation.
