HMD Pulse 2 Pro Leaked: New Renders and Specs Hint at Affordable Mid-Range Contender

Upcoming Smartphone Tipped to Feature 50MP Cameras, 120Hz Display, and Repairable Design
HELSINKI – September 2, 2025 – The HMD Pulse 2 Pro, a device that has been generating buzz in the tech community, appears to have had its design and key specifications prematurely revealed online. Leaked renders and detailed information suggest a compelling new mid-range smartphone from HMD Global, featuring a focus on camera capabilities and a potentially user-friendly repairable design. While previously anticipated for an IFA Berlin 2025 debut, these leaks provide an early glimpse into what consumers can expect.
A design render, shared by tipster @smashx_60 on X (formerly Twitter), showcases the HMD Pulse 2 Pro in an eye-catching purple colorway. The device features slightly rounded corners and a distinctive raised rear camera module that spans the upper panel, drawing comparisons to Apple’s “Camera Plateau” design seen on the latest iPhone 17 series. Notably, the leak also hints at a plastic frame coupled with a “repairable design,” a feature that could significantly appeal to environmentally conscious users and those looking for greater longevity from their devices.
Beyond the aesthetics, the leak sheds light on a comprehensive list of expected specifications. The HMD Pulse 2 Pro is tipped to sport a generous 6.7-inch IPS display, offering a Full-HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, promising an immersive visual experience. Color options are said to include Glacier Green, Midnight Black, and Twilight Purple.
Camera enthusiasts have much to anticipate, as the device is rumored to pack a powerful dual-rear camera unit. This setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for clearer shots, alongside a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. For selfies and video calls, the Pulse 2 Pro is poised to impress with a high-resolution 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
Powering the device will be a Unisoc T615 chipset, paired with configurations offering up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage (6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants are expected). The HMD Pulse 2 Pro is also said to run on Android 15 out of the box and feature an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, adding a layer of durability.
Further expected features include dual speakers, NFC connectivity, two microphones, and a custom button, enhancing the overall user experience. A robust 5,000mAh battery with 20W charging support is tipped to keep the device powered throughout the day.
While HMD Global has yet to officially confirm these details, the HMD Pulse 2 Pro was previously spotted on a retailer’s website with a price tag of CHF 169 (roughly Rs. 18,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. This pricing suggests it will debut as an accessible successor to the HMD Pulse Pro, which launched earlier this year in April. With these compelling specifications and an attractive price point, the HMD Pulse 2 Pro is shaping up to be a strong contender in the competitive mid-range smartphone market.
