The Florida Department of Environmental Protection announced on Monday the commencement of its 2024-2025 Great Outdoors Initiative, which proposes extending public access, enhancing outdoor activities, and giving new accommodation alternatives in the Sunshine State’s parks.
The news release was brief and primarily focused on Gov. Ron DeSantis’ commitment in preserving the state’s natural landscape. Details from public meeting agendas set for next Tuesday reveal suggestions for at least eight state parks ranging from South Florida to the Panhandle. Which Florida State Parks would be impacted?
The news release included almost little information on which Florida state parks will be affected by these changes, but a peek at the FDEP’s public notices calendar shows meetings at eight of them:
