Exit Poll 2023 Chhattisgarh: An exclusive C-Voter exit poll for ABP News has shown that the Congress is very close to retaining power in Chhattisgarh in the latest round of assembly elections.
This is in contrast to the last elections in 2018 when the Congress ended the BJP’s 15-year rule in the state by winning 68 of the 90 seats.
According to the latest ABP CVoter exit poll with a sample size of 19171 the Congress is projected to win 41 to 53 seats. The party is projected to get 43.4 per cent of the vote slightly higher than in 2018.
The BJP’s vote share is projected to increase dramatically from 33 per cent in 2018 to 41.2 per cent this time. The big jump in vote share does not seem to help the BJP return to power in Chhattisgarh as it is projected to win 36 to 48 seats.
Both the BJP and the Congress are expected to gain in vote share at the cost of smaller parties. Others got 23.9 per cent vote share in 2018 which is expected to come down to 15.4 per cent this time This time they are expected to win 0 to 4 seats. There is a direct fight between the BJP and the Congress in Chhattisgarh.
According to a thorough analysis of the exit poll data there is a possibility of a twist in the tale. According to the poll there are around 28 seats in the state where there is a close contest between the two parties and the victory margin can be reduced.
According to ABP-CVoter projections if all the marginal seats turn anti-incumbency the BJP could actually win 54 to 60 seats and recapture the state. However if all the marginal seats go in favour of the incumbents the Congress will retain power by winning 56 to 62 seats.
The results of the Chhattisgarh assembly elections will be declared on December 3.
