DM gave instructions to the officials regarding the preparation of Shravani fair at Jhamatiya and Simaria Ghat.


District Officer Roshan Kushwaha held a review meeting on the administrative preparations to be made from Jhamatiya Ganga Ghat in Narepur of Bachhwara to Simaria and Harigiridham for the Shravani fair in the coming month of Sawan. He also did a point-wise review with the officials regarding the preparations for the fair. After the review, he gave several instructions to the officials.

DM said that Shravani Mela will run from 22nd July to 19th August. He has also released a route chart for the devotees going to Garhpura with Gangajal from Simaria and Jhamatiya Ghat. SP, Additional Collector, Sub-Divisional Officer, Circle Officer and all the concerned police station incharges were present in the meeting. The state government has been organizing the Mela here since 2015. In the month of Shravan, lakhs of Shiva devotees reach Baba Harigiridham in Garhpura on foot after collecting Gangajal from Simaria and Jhamatiya Ghat.

During the month of Shravan the number of devotees increases considerably on Mondays. It is worth mentioning that since the year 2015 this event is being organised by the Fair Authority of the State Government. The devotees carrying water from Simaria Ghat will reach Baba Harigiridham Garhpura via Simaria Ghat- Bihat- Barauni Zeromile- Bathauli Dhala- Maidavbhangaama- Veerpur Chowk Sikarhula Budhi Gandhak Dam, Korea Chowk Siuri Maheshwara Jayamangalagarh Mod- Jhulla- Garhkhauli- Harsain Bridge Sakra Rajaud- Raksi Chowk Garhpura route.

The devotees carrying water from Jhamatiya Ghat will reach Jhamatiya Ghat via Bachhwara Bazaar- Kadarabad- Bhagwanpur- Chilhayrampur- Pakthaul Chowk- Jagdhar- Veerpur Chowk Muzaffara Sikrahula Budhi Gandhak Bagh to Korea Chowk Siuri Maheshwara Jayamangalagarh Turn Jhulla Garhkhauli- Harsain Bridge Sakra Rajaud Raksi Chowk Garhpura.

The settlement officer of Simaria Ghat and the Zonal Officer Bachhwara and the Block Development Officer Bachhwara have been instructed to level the ghats where devotees take bath and collect water. Along with proper lighting arrangements at the ghats, the Executive Engineer of the Public Health Department Begusarai has been instructed to make arrangements for temporary toilets and drinking water at both the ghats.

The Chakia OP in-charge and Bachhwara police station in-charge have been asked to keep a vigil and make security arrangements. The Barauni and Bachhwara zonal officers have been instructed to keep proper arrangements for boats, big nets and divers at their respective ghats. The SP has been requested to depute additional home guard police to relieve people from the huge traffic jam on Rajendra Bridge.

The magistrate will deploy a police force on the Kanwaria path from Simaria and Jhamatiya Ghat till Baba Harigiri Dham and in Baba Harigiri Dham temple till the fair period. CCTV cameras will be installed in the temple premises and nearby places for security purposes. Water tankers and mobile toilets available in all the six municipal bodies and PHED of the district will be installed at intermediate locations.
