In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Ong detailed the severity of his condition. He described the tumor as “one of the biggest they have ever seen” and shared his intense experience of pain, which he rated as a “10 out of 10” on the pain scale.
Ong first noticed symptoms in April 2023, including fatigue, difficulty breathing, and swallowing. Initially, he attributed these issues to aging, but by October, he began experiencing severe back pain. His condition worsened to the point where he could not sleep comfortably. After being hospitalized and diagnosed in August 2024, he is now undergoing chemotherapy.
Despite the seriousness of his diagnosis, Ong is maintaining a positive outlook. He expressed gratitude for the support from his family, noting that this period has brought him closer to his children and wife. Ong’s focus remains on his treatment and the emotional support he receives from his loved ones.
Ong, who has a significant social media following with nearly 10 million subscribers on YouTube and 17 million followers on Facebook, has been a prominent figure in health advocacy. He was also a vice-presidential candidate in the 2022 elections and served as a consultant for the Department of Health from 2010 to 2014.
His announcement has garnered widespread support and sympathy from his followers and the public.
