The state’s first CBG plant will be built in Begusarai, the industrial capital of Bihar, in collaboration with ONGC. With this, cattle farmers will also get income from cow dung, while on the other hand, dairy farmers will save more than Rs 4 crore every year.
On Sunday, local MP, Union Minister Giriraj Singh and National Dairy Development Board Chairman Meenesh Shah laid the foundation stone of 100 MT per day cow dung based biogas energy production plant at Barauni Dairy. Let us tell you that the construction work of this plant is being done by Maharatna company Oil and Natural Gas (ONGC) with the support of Rs 30 crore under CSR and technical support of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
Let us tell you that with the construction of this plant, Barauni Dairy will purchase 100 metric tons of cow dung daily from about 3 thousand cattle farmers. It will produce biogas and various types of organic fertilizers PROM, MRL and Root Guard. Along with this, cattle farmers will get additional income from the sale of cow dung. This plant will produce 4 thousand cubic meters of biogas daily. Which will be used by the dairy in boiler operation. Due to which the cost of LPG in the boiler will reduce.
Giving information, MD Sunil Ranjan Mishra said that the construction of this plant will be completed in about 18 months. With its operation, the dairy will save Rs 4.5 to Rs 5 crore in energy expenditure every day. A modern technology based plant with a daily production capacity of 2.5 lakh liters has been constructed.
