Asteroid hitting earth Philippines, Asteroid smashes over the Philippines, spotted hours before it hits Earth

Asteroid hitting earth Philippines : The asteroid, 2024 RW1, was discovered by astronomers at the Catalina Sky Survey in Arizona, a NASA-funded program that tracks near-Earth objects.

A tiny asteroid was spotted barely hours before it collided with Earth, demonstrating impressive astronomical detection and planetary defense capabilities.

The asteroid, which arrived with a streaking tail, burned up harmlessly in Earth’s atmosphere over the Philippines.

This celestial visitor, measuring around 3 feet (1 meter) in diameter, was one of the tiniest asteroids ever discovered prior to impact.

The space rock hit Earth’s atmosphere about 1646 GMT and disintegrated over the western Pacific Ocean near Luzon Island in the Philippines. Despite its diminutive size, the asteroid’s fiery end produced a dazzling fireball that may be visible from the Philippines’ east coast.

This is only the ninth occasion in history that an asteroid has been identified before impact, demonstrating the growing efficacy of Earth’s planetary defense systems. Asteroids of this size usually approach Earth once every two weeks without posing any threat.
