A young man who went to take a bath in a pond died


Bakhri/Begusarai/Correspondent: A child died after drowning in a pit-like pond located in Sakhoy Bahiyar located in Kumharso under Garhpura of Bakhri subdivision area. The incident occurred on Thursday late evening, where the deceased child had gone to take bath in the said pond located on the railway side with his friends. In this incident, the deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar, 11-year-old son of Sadanand Das, resident of Kauda village, ward no. 10 of Kumharso Panchayat. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it to Begusarai for post-mortem.

According to the information received, Deepak left his home at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday. He along with other children went to take bath in a pit of Sakhoy Tal, about one and a half kilometer away from the village. When Deepak did not return home till evening, his family members reached Sakhoy Bahiyar searching for him. Then some children present there told that he was seen bathing in Sakhoy Tal. After that people started searching in the water of that pit-like pond. Due to the pit being big, the body of the drowned child was taken out late in the evening. Here, there is commotion in the child's house due to his death.

Parvati Devi, grandmother of deceased Deepak, said that his parents had gone to Delhi a month back. Deepak had enrolled himself a few days back to study in Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Kauda. Summer vacation is going on in the school these days. So, he went for a stroll with his friends. On Thursday, he went to Sakhoy Bahiyar for a bath. During the bath, he fell into a deep ditch and died there. It was told that an application is also being given in the zone in this regard so that the relatives of the deceased can receive financial assistance from the government. It is worth mentioning that the parents of deceased Deepak live in Delhi. His father Sadanand Das works as a mason in Delhi to take care of his family. Deepak was the third among four siblings.
