9 people died in 24 hours due to lightning in Bihar, CM Nitish announced compensation


Nine people died due to lightning in various districts of Bihar during the last 24 hours. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed to give an ex-gratia grant of Rs. 4 lakh each to the dependents of the deceased immediately. According to the Disaster Management Department, three people died in Jehanabad and two in Madhepura due to lightning during the last 24 hours, while one person each lost their lives in East Champaran, Rohtas, Saran and Supaul.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed deep condolences on these incidents. The Chief Minister said that he is with the affected families in this hour of disaster. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to give ex-gratia grant of Rs. 4 lakh each on Saturday itself. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to be very cautious during bad weather. In case of bad weather, follow the suggestions issued from time to time by the Disaster Management Department to protect yourself from lightning. Stay indoors and stay safe during bad weather.
