15 engineers suspended in the case of collapse and culvert collapse in Bihar, Nitish government took action


The government suspended 15 engineers on Friday in the case of the collapse and collapse of nine bridges in various districts of Bihar recently. This includes 11 from the Water Resources Department and four from the Rural Works Department. It was told that a total of 9 bridges have collapsed in various districts recently, out of which six bridges were very old and three were under construction. Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department Chaitanya Prasad said on Friday that six bridges located on the Chhadi Gandaki river in Siwan and Saran districts collapsed on July 3 and 4.

In the investigation of the departmental flying squad, it was found that during the work, the concerned engineers did not take appropriate steps to keep the bridges situated on the river safe. He said that taking the matter of damage to these bridges seriously, 11 guilty engineers of the Water Resources Department related to the implementation have been suspended. These include Executive Engineers Amit Anand and Kumar Brajesh, Assistant Engineers Rajkumar, Chandramohan Jha, Simran Anand and Neha Rani and Junior Engineers Mohd. Majid, Ravi Kumar Rajneesh, Rafiul Hoda Ansari, Ratanesh Gautam and Prabhat Ranjan. Whereas, in the case of damaged culvert in Araria on June 18, an investigation team was formed under the chairmanship of Nirmal Kumar (Chief Engineer, Rural Works Department, Purnia) and the damaged bridge was investigated. As a result of negligence in the construction work of the damaged bridge, Executive Engineers of Rural Works Department Anjani Kumar, Ashutosh Kumar Ranjan and Junior Engineers Virendra Prasad and Manish Kumar were suspended with immediate effect.
